Welcome to the homepage for the Arable Decision Support Community. The site contains information about decision support tools being developed used in UK arable agriculture.

Farmers and agronomists have difficult choices to make on a wide range of crop management issues: variety selection, disease control, weed management to name but a few. Decisions on disease or weed management, for example, need to take account of economic, market and environmental factors, requiring the decision maker to have a very wide breadth of knowledge. Computer programs designed to store, handle and present data have a role to play in supporting decision makers across agriculture, and in recent years a number of ‘decision tools’ have been developed.

ArableDS brings together the decision tools developed to date with the intention of showing farmers and consultants what is available and how it will benefit their businesses. There is a range of decision support tools to explore, and in the changing world of arable farming, decision makers need all the help available.
